My path to happiness

  • Hi, I’m Emily Oliver, a life coach with a happiness focus and a reiki practitioner.  Until I discovered my calling – I felt like I was taking a backseat to my autopilot life.  Within a week of graduating college I turned my back on my psychology degree and took a marketing job that fell in my lap.
  • For 5 years my main motivator was my clients happiness, and in college my most meaningful class was positive psychology, so I decided  it was time to shift gears towards a career that focused solely on that.
  • I was referred to Happiness4HumanKind by a friend who completed one of the programs and who is now sustainably happy – achieving her dreams in the medical profession.  I decided to enroll in an advanced training program where I learned how to teach happiness science, and how to foster success in clients by using strengths based coaching, positive psychology and appreciative inquiry.
  • Since beginning my work in October of 2018 I have spent 300+ hours in training, 200+ hours on inner work, 150+ hours in the classroom, 50+ hours coaching, and 25+ hours giving Reiki.
  • I took control of my life and there is nothing I would rather do than help you take control of yours!

10 Symptoms of Self-Sabotage

Have you self-sabotaged recently? We can say any number of things to ourselves… that we are going to start that diet, cut back on alcohol, spend more time being uncomfortable, or be a less judging individual, for example. In the haze of stress, self-criticism, doubt,...

5 Ways to Stop Chronic Overthinking

5 Ways to Stop Chronic Overthinking

When I first heard the term “chronic overthinker” I initially laughed; yet the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it was a funny way to talk about a serious issue. Mental health professionals have studied the effects of rumination and depression and the two seem to go hand-in-hand. Both of these mental states seem to feed into each other. Unfortunately, phrasing it this way – i.e. a “chronic overthinker – can make it seem like it is a sickness that cannot be cured easily. The good news is that these thought patterns can be challenged. You can harness your mind to work for you, rather than against you.

Play to Your Strengths

Play to your strengths…. we have all heard it! If posed the question, would you have a hard time identifying your strengths? I have found that many people find it difficult to name more than a few. The good news is that you possess varying degrees of 24 different...
