Hi, I’m Emily Oliver - a certified happiness and goals coach, and Reiki Master.
When we think of our loved ones, what do we wish for them? Usually we say something along the lines of ‘I just want them to be happy and healthy.’ This past year the value of these two traits has been put to the test.
In a world where so many struggle to create or feel deserving of happiness I have made it my mission to spread the science of happiness, as I believe it is a human right.
As adolescents we aren’t taught how to manage our minds and our emotions. We aren’t taught that when we avoid emotions and keep them inside, when they do resurface, it is usually with a vengeance.
I wasn’t taught this until I took my first positive psychology class at Stockton University. Only then, when I began applying its practices, did I realize there were healthier ways of coping.
Upon graduation, I did the only thing I knew how to do, and did what I thought was expected of me. I joined the corporate world where a good salary, healthcare, and retirement funds was guaranteed.
After 5 years I realized that I had settled for a profession that did not bring me fulfillment and that I owed it to myself and others to use my calling to make a difference.
As I began searching for the perfect place to study, I was referred to Happiness for HumanKind – a company that makes happiness a bullseye rather than a byproduct and my search was over.
Since then I have been empowering individuals with solution-oriented methods to enhance well-being, relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and ADD/ADHD. All of which allows them to experience more purpose, pleasure, and pride.
